New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program

New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program

New Brunswick Provincial Nomination Program (NBPNP) is a provincial immigration program for individuals who plan on moving to Canada, settle in New Brunswick and contribute to the local economy.

In partnership with the Government of Canada, the province of New Brunswick provides a streamlined system through which qualified prospective immigrants can apply for permanent Canadian residence. Known as the New Brunswick Provincial Nomination Program, or NBPNP, it grants a Provincial Nomination Certificate to a number of eligible applicants each year.

Having a Provincial Nomination Certificate is not a requirement for applying for residency, but it often results in a much faster processing of residence applications and also frequently affects the residency decision positively. Currently, the NBPNP accepts applications from prospective immigrants in four categories

Express Entry Applicants

This immigration stream is for individuals who wish to immigrate to Canada and apply through Canada’s  Express Entry system.

Skilled Workers with Employer Support

This immigration stream is for individuals who currently have an job offer of full-time, permanent employment from an employer in New Brunswick.

Skilled Workers with Family Support

This immigration stream is for individuals who have worked in New Brunswick and also have close family or personal ties in the province.

Business Applicants

This stream is for individuals who plan on moving to New Brunswick in order to start, manage, or purchase a local business and make a significant monetary investment.

General Requirements

While each NBPNP category has its own specific requirements for applying, there are some general requirements that applicants should be aware of. For instance, any individual who wishes to receive a Provincial Nomination through the NBPNP will have to demonstrate their plan for supporting themselves in Canada, whether it’s through a current job offer, a background of education or skilled work experience, or personal wealth.

All applicants will also be expected to demonstrate fluency in either English or French, be able to pass a medical screening and security check, and explain how they will be able to contribute to the economy and community where they plan to live.
